We’ve worked with some of the world’s leading science and advanced technology companies, from quantum computing to microbiology, communicating what they do and why it matters.

Innovative science and technology is a great inspiration for us. And our work helps science and technology brands differentiate and grow. We work across the following areas:

Content and storytelling

Advanced scientific discovery can be thrilling - or hard to understand for those outside the core team. For Google DeepMind’s Nobel-prize winning AlphaFold project, we met the microbiologists using the AI-based tool, and seeing how it transformed protein research - with consequences across medicine, recycling, industry and even paleontology.

Positioning and brand design

In a busy landscape of growing companies, standing out and looking the part helps attract customers, investors, and key talent. We worked with quantum computing pioneers Universal Quantum on a whole new look and positioning, focusing on their differentiating factor of scale, and expanding this into a slick, fully scalable, visual identity system.

Growth and acquisition

Marketing to scientists is often overly rational, treating scientists like robots with unfurnished product claims and poorly thought-through visuals. For life science ingredients manufacturer Abcam, we used emotional insights to market a rational product to a skeptical audience, building on interviews with scientists to create a scalable campaign that taps into the emotional drivers behind the work.

Public engagement

Some science and technology is so groundbreaking that it will change the world around it. AI is one such example. We partnered with Google DeepMind’s design team to produce Visualising AI, a project to bring together world-class 3D illustrators and animators with the company’s own scientists and researchers, and open up conversations around AI by improving the available visual imagery.

Events and sales support

Events and conferences are a core part of the science world, and for some companies they’re key to customer engagement and growth targets. When Abcam asked us to think of how they can stand out at AACR, one of the largest science conferences in the US, we knew we needed to do something special: a pop-up art exhibition and immersive planetarium experience celebrating the relationship between scientists and their research.
