Challenge

The Old Vic Community Companies production of Rise brought 200 real Londoners together to  challenge the audience's perception of their everyday environment. How could we pre-engage the audience to introduce them to the themes of the play?

Strategy

After workshopping with the company we recorded anonymous voicemails from cast and crew that they never got to leave, which audience members could experience by text or in person.

Idea

2.5k voicemails of confessions, unrequited love and untold truths, were delivered over the two week run of the play.
