400 years after Shakespeare's death, the British Council put together a year long program of events. How could we bring his plays to a new audience online?
Digital resources around theatre often focus on showing, not doing. We wanted to make our users directors in their own right, and let them create something of their own.
Working with the Old Vic in London and Cain & Able in India we created interactive versions of two of Shakespeare's best known plays. Users could make key decisions around staging, casting and interpretation to create their own scene from the play, using real video footage and professional actors. Why not try it yourself?
